After graduating from Ohio County High School in 2015, Zach played collegiate baseball for NAIA Brescia University for 4 years.  Playing thirdbase and shortstop, he earned 2 River States Conference Tournament Gold Glove awards (2016, 2018).  He graduated in 2019 with a degree in Business and moved to Bowling Green later that year.
